Beach Not Bitumen is an umbrella organisation composed of many different groups and individuals – with many different views on the Scarborough redevelopment, but all united in opposing both extensions of the Esplanade in Scarborough Beach.
Whether you are an environmentalist, someone who appreciates good urban design, a local resident, or one of the many thousands of beachgoers who love Scarborough Beach and its dunes, you will want to join us in opposing the destruction of vegetated sand dunes to create more roads and more traffic at the heart of Scarborough Beach.
We want to keep Scarborough for people, not for roads. For the beach, not more bitumen.
